Week 15

Future

Whats your future like in 10 years?

In 10 years, I will be 30 years old. Hopefully I will have a job I enjoy doing and maybe kids. Realistically, I suspect living costs for my area will far exceed my wage, so I might actually become homeless. On top of the already expensive cost to live in California, with sea levels rising, surface area of land will decrease, making it more expensive and the demand higher. Maybe people will start trying to develop a society underwater due to the decreasing land surface.

By 2050, the underwater society will have been completed and people will successfully be living there. Unfortunately, it is now expensive to live in both water and on land, due to the cost of the technology to keep the underwater livening conditions viable for people, and the cost for comfort and demand for living on dry land. Thanks to the fact that living in the ocean is now possible, humans now don’t need to worry about over populating for a while again.  Due to the technology developed in order to sustain underwater life for humans, it became a lot easier for people to avoid using environmentally harmfully resources and rely and renewable energy using the ocean water.

In another 50 years, so 100 years from now, the environment has been improved. People have become well accustomed to living underwater and people living on land also use water technology to save the environment. The dichotomy of society and land and another society on water creates a cultural difference so vast that they start considering each other to be a separate race.  There will be underwater Olympics and Land Olympics.
